Thank you as always, TD -- was not caught up myself on Van Jones specifically until you mentioned it now. It's sure nice that Substack essentially gives everyone an equal voice, so I will see if I can promote this article of yours in his handle and embarrass those est. "liberal" slimemongers.

After all, Jones definitely proved himself a full-on Zionist gatekeeper back when slandering the pro-Palestine peaceful protesters in Los Angeles as "antisemitic" even though the protest was directed against the synagogue's financial support for Judeo-Lebensraum/Kabbalistic right-wing "settlement" projects, not as if the synagogue members were targeted for being "Jewish" (though Zionist Jews of course are *not* genuinely Jewish in any traditional sense: https://adversusbabylon.substack.com/p/are-zionist-jews-legitimately-jewish).

It's also ironic that Jones in that stint compared the keffiyeh to the Confederate flag. After all, the Confederacy and its subsidiary pillars -- namely the Knights of the Golden Circle (KGC) which morphed into the post-Civil War -- were funded by the Zionist British Prime Minister Lord Palmerston. Zionazistic psychological projection, *then again*, is nothing new, of course.

He’s smart enough to restrict comments to paid subscribers. Otherwise I think he’d be run out of town.

Well said and totally agree, but in all fairness, my 'stack is basically an extension of my regular blog and is entirely free, but — as at my blog — I don't allow commenting AT ALL, because I don't feel like wasting my time policing the comments and scraping out the trollage and flamage and AI shartage and Louis Vuitton spam when I could be reading and drawing. My email address is posted at my "about" page if you REALLY NEED to get in touch or comment on a cartoon, but naahhh... I don't want anonymous randos hanging around my space and flinging their shit around.

But, yeah, Van Jones. EEEEEEWWWWWW. Sorry — here I am with four years' liberal arts and design arts' education, a 30+ year career, and the most articulate response I have to Van Jones is EEEEEWWWWWWWW.

Ted Gioa posted an interesting stat the other day. Apparently Bari Weiss’ substack is worth 100million.

Now, i haven’t read Bari since October 7th last year, and it’s possible that she’s come around in the intervening time - but her rabid “our 9/11, all aboard, next stop Prop City Atroaganda” spiel was so vile she lost me (i was never more than an occasional reader) forever.

Given the horror that has unfurled since, i’m confident in stating the financial expansion is certainly not all good.

This influx of ex mainstream rebranding as independent just reeks of Stringer Bell’s renaming of the shit package. Are we going to see the mainstream fiends shuffling across the bridge to the East Side like zombies, becoming even more ardent in the defence of their regurgitated world view… “hey, i read independent too! It’s not system propaganda”

The real danger in the long run is it will drown out wonderful voices such as yours and indie’s

None of which is to deny that there are those having a bit of an epiphany - Anna Kaspa something or other seems to be genuine for example.

I love that Substack remains a free market for ideas, even ones I disagree with. It’s easy to block or ignore pundits who are whacked.

Pathetic hack doesn’t even begin to describe Van Jones. His intro post is literally a caricature of the sold out mainstream journalist with no principles or back bone.

“I’ve been famous and had access to a spotlight in the media for ten years, and I have ALWAYS avoided speaking the truth because I’m a scared baby! I play it safe by hiding my real beliefs behind a fake persona and never challenging the prescribed narrative. I’ve got access to information and insight, but I DO NOT share it with you to keep you uninformed.”

I wrote all this based on the exact points he made in his post, there is straight up no hyperbole being used.

I was amused that he seems to believe that his limited scope is somehow indicative of a 'man of the world'. He needs to get out more!

Jones is a MAGA Hack apologist:

I reject Van Jones and his left wing position. I reject your position that Israel is genocidal in Gaza. War is wrong. I defend your right to say what you believe. I disagree with your belief.

Only paid subscribers can comment on Van Jones' introduction to his new Substack venture. That speaks volumes about the bravery of the man.... it is zero. I noticed that he arrives with 13,000+ subscribers presumably dragged across from his twitter feed. So he hits the ground running at an advantage due to his previous popularity and does not have to build an audience by effort like the rest of us.

I was hoping to inform him that his body language revealed that he is a liar. I guess he doesn't appreciate my opinion unless it is backed up with cash.

Oh btw!

I have never heard of this guy before because I would no more listen to or watch CNN than brush my hair with a hedgehog.

Body language... y'mean in the foto at the top, that kind of gesturing, "aw shucks" smiling pose? At least he wasn't pulling that "as if caught in the middle of buttoning his suit jacket" move.

No. I mean in the brief video he used to introduce himself.

Ah, OK, thanks. Just checking out that publicity shot and thinking 'd'ahh, cripes, another one of these GQ-cover-posing dudes'.

EEEEWWWW. Y'know, I was just wondering whatever the hell happened to this doorknob. Serves me right. Last I heard, he was an old Obama fanboi and Russiagate pusher, a smarmy-ass media annoyance from WAY back.

Soooo... still a Party boi, huh, Mr. J? This is the most cringe news I've heard since Charlotte Clymer first showed up on Mastodon.

It’s the same thing, recycled over and over. The collective “little guys”, the many, the masses, the democracy (small-d) go out and independently create something valuable, that’s outside of the control of The Big System.

Once it gets large enough to capture the attention of Big Establishment (any of the Bigs), they use their power to either crush the little start-up, buy it out, or infiltrate it and use it to their benefit.

I once had to design a campaign for one of those philanthro-capitalist foundations, who ran an event with that zionist shitlib. I quit that job a few months after, it was good money but I just couldn't stand it. I wasn't able to tell that to his face because the comments on his posts are only enabled for his brain dead supporters.

“Again, Jones accidentally makes Trump look like a reasonable alternative to the democrats and ignores his actual policy record such as the fact that he approved lethal arms to Ukraine while he was president, and gave Republican speaker Mike Jhonson the green light to approve arms packages to Ukraine.”

Mike wasn’t speaker under Trump.

I know that, I was referring to the fact that Trump gave mike Johnson his blessing to vote for a Ukraine arms bill earlier this year. You can read more about it from Michael Tracey here: https://www.mtracey.net/p/never-forget-that-donald-trump-snookered

Wow. This answers some of what I questioned as I watched Trump deflect Joe Rogen when he asked who did DJT think was running the WH, or why didn’t he participate in GOP primaries, and then later, when he says things like this wouldn’t happen if he was in office. Saying, he can’t tell Joe what he’ll say to Putin, Zelenskyy or Ji, but he knows what he’s going to say.

And about his influence. MAGA, whether voter or Senator, sees what he wants them to see. The ‘Art of the Deal’. And then MTG, Gaetz et al, miss the slight of hand he slips by, then posting a vague, truth social post, that makes them ‘feel’ better about passing it?

Swear, now I’m thinking he may not BE the anti-christ, but someone who paves the way. America, you have your work cut out for you!! God help us.
