Greg Palast thinks that Putin massed troops to increase the price of oil, Russian oil. On the other hand, it looks like a large part of US concerns is stopping the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline to Germany. In either case, economics of fossil fuels drive this conflict.

Yes, I am being lied to about Ukraine. By you.

The Maidan protests were not violent. What was violent was Yanukovych's response to the protests. There would've been no violence if Yanukovych had simply allowed them to protest in peace.

The Estonian foreign minister having heard a thirdhand account claiming the snipers were a false flag by the protesters doesn't make it true. Ukraine-hating conspiracy theorist Ivan Katchanovski claiming to have "determined" this also doesn't make it true. Katchanovski is probably the source that the Estonian foreign minister had heard from. And yes I'm well aware that Katchanovski is himself of Ukrainian origin. He's still anti-Ukraine, for his entire career he's railed against "Ukrainian nationalism" and thinks Ukraine should be absorbed into Russia.

Nuland did not "handpick" the prime minister of Ukraine, and Yatsenyuk only even held the office for 6 weeks.

Russia seized Crimea not because of a "coup" (the Maidan protests were in no way a coup) but because he saw it as an opportunity for Russian expansionism. Luhansk and Donetsk did not secede from Ukraine. A pair of fake governments created by Russia and falsely claiming to represent Luhansk and Donetsk merely claimed to "secede."

And your claim that imminent Russian invasion was "propaganda" sure did age well, didn't it?
