I seem to remember some folks saying something very similar around 2003.
As I understand it, we still control Iraq's assets, and they have to get permission from the U.S. Treasury to fund their own government, which is withheld when they do something we don't like (like ask the U.S. military to leave). So, it has still turned out very well for the corporations who sponsored that war.
It turned out swimmingly for the corporations, as it always would have, but then the corporations never suffer. It was a disaster for the Iraqis, led to the creation and rise of ISIS, and was also arguably a disaster for the US. I foresee similar disasters this time around but the corporations, I am sure, will be just fine.

The MSM are out of touch. All of these pseudo journalists are part of the elite. They travel in the same circles and look down on the every day American like a feudal lord in 14th century France.
