The RENACER Act: The Next Chapter in regime change.
The U.S. is trying to impose more sanctions on Nicaragua to foment regime change.
What the RENACER Act is
The Senate will soon vote on a bill that was passed unanimously in the Senate and will be voted on soon in the house. The Bill will impose sanctions on Nicaragua that will restrict Nicaragua from trade and the ability to get loans. Within this article, I will expose the regime change plot against Nicaragua and show how the mainstream media is manufacturing consent for this regime-change operation.
Some background on this regime change campaign
The bill claims to “advance the strategic alignment of the United States diplomatic tools toward the realization of free, fair, and transparent elections in Nicaragua and to reaffirm the commitment of the United States to protect the fundamental freedoms and human rights of the people of Nicaragua” but it is clear the bill will result in the exact opposite leading to mass suffering imposed onto the Nicaraguan people in the hope that it will foment regime change. John Bolton made it very clear the U.S. was looking for regime change in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua when he gave a speech claiming they were the Troika of Tyranny. Of course, the Trump administration backed a coup in Venezuela by recognizing unelected coup Puppet Juan Gaudio as the “interim president” of Venezuela and imposing crippling sanctions on the country that has led to the deaths of 40,000 people. Trump also re-imposed the embargo on Cuba by placing the harshest sanctions on Cuba since the 60s. It is very clear that the Joe Biden administration is continuing Trump’s war on these countries as the sanctions on Venezuela continue under his administration and his secretary of state is continuing to meet with coup puppet Guaido and calling him the “interim president”. Biden also placed more sanctions on Cuba during the failed “S.O.S. Cuba” regime change propaganda campaign. All of this is important information to know when understanding why the U.S. is targeting Nicaragua with sanctions: it is part of a regime change campaign started by Trump and continued by Biden to overthrow the socialist governments of Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua and replace them with neo-liberal puppet regimes that will act in accordance with U.S. interests. Independent journalist Ben Norton who is based in Nicaragua recently found more evidence the United States is plotting regime change in Nicaragua for a recent investigation for The Grayzone. His investigation proved that the U.S. is considering not recognizing the Ortega government after the upcoming November elections similar to what the Trump administration did with Venezuela.
Humanitarian propaganda debunked.
Of course like any other regime change campaign, the media has been manufacturing consent for years to cause people to be sympathetic to regime change in Nicaragua. FAIR media journalist Joe Emersberger exposed how the media misrepresented an armed uprising in the country in 2018. Within the piece, Emersberger shows how Reuters ignored violence from the N.E.D.-backed protestors claiming they were mostly peaceful. He shows how these articles completely ignored the people in Nicaragua who had been beaten, killed, and kidnapped by these U.S.-backed insurgents. In a letter to the Guardian Nicaragua-based journalist John Perry explained how the Guardian misreprented protestors in the city he lives in, Masaya. He details the three months his city was under control by the opposition who burned houses of government supporters and schools as well as ransacked shops and met dissent with violence. Perry explains that these violent insurgents he witnessed were being portrayed as peaceful protestors by the Guardian. Again very similar to Venezuela violent opposition insurgents are portrayed as peaceful protestors by the mainstream media because they are funded by U.S. money usually through C.I.A. cutout, the National Endowment for Democracy.
It is beyond obvious this is yet another regime change camping targeting a socialist government in the global south. Fortunately, there is still time to stop the RENACER act before it is passed. You can visit this Twitter link for friends of Latin America to find out which congressmen to contact to oppose this act or tag your congressman to show you oppose the sanctions. You can also sing this CodePink petition telling congress you oppose these sanctions.
