The Trump admin isn't going to pull off a negotiated deal, not now, not at any point. They don't have the clarity, cohesion, or willpower. If Israel ropes them into a shooting war with Iran (50/50 on that in the remaining two years) they'll just cold-turkey pull the plug on Kiev - and get another equally awful mess in exchange.
Otherwise it's status quo on autopilot. Plus or minus a handful of jets or missiles doesn't change the basics. Europe is for now irrelevant, militarily speaking. Not one country in European NATO wants to do what Ukraine is doing. Talk of 100 Mirage and Gripen jets, in a decade, with unclear funding... okay sure. The way it's going, Ukraine will run out of militarily useful men around the time Trump's term ends, and given their strategy of demonstrative deep strikes for the purpose of provocation, they'll be largely without power by summer 2026 if not sooner, kicking off a big population movement.
That peace plan reads like it was written by multi-national corporations who stand to profit from its provisions; it wash't going anywhere, anyway, and didn't need Rubio to derail it. Russia has absolutely no pressing reason to try to deal with the U.S. or with its proxy Ukraine.
