But then, people like MTG end up demonstrating what seems to be a simpler form of the religion, with true pro-human values as part of their ethics. I think it doesn't exhibit as softie lefties would say it should, and certainly the MTGs are not so soft that they are Jainists or deep social safety netters, but you're right, there is an ability to debate, because she has thought through her positions--starting from where she started, of course.
