Good to hear Israel is getting some well deserved payback.

drednorzt's avatar

May she continue to reap what she's sowed.

Indeed, and may the occupiers' plans continue to fail and backfire

As Wajahat Ali says about Donald Trump [and this applies to Israel]: "Like a New York City sewer rat, when cornered he will chew through anything and anyone to escape".

Chet S's avatar

Oh so suddenly reprisal attacks on civilians are fine actually?

Evolution's Child's avatar

Oh, Chet…you need to take your soul back. It really is your power. Good luck, bud.

Chet S's avatar

Why doesn’t the video “showing the tomahawk hitting the school” show it hitting the school?

Mike Menzie's avatar

And what were those school girls who got bombed?

Chet S's avatar

A misfire of an Iranian missile, like the time they hit that Druze school in the West Bank (and blamed the Jews for that, too)

Mike Menzie's avatar

Oh please, that’s a lie and you know it. Have some more kool-aid

Chet S's avatar

If it’s a lie, why did the Iranians already admit to it?

Why does the “video proof that it was a US tomahawk” show the tomahawk hitting the base and not the school?

I hope you're getting paid to be like this

Israel has already lost the narrative war abroad. Now they're trying to keep from losing it at home.

Bill Jarett's avatar

(The reason nothing is reported on Iran striking Israeli military or strategic targets is that the country has imposed a strict information blackout to make sure that information does not get out.)-

No, the reason is because they are losing the war and relying on censorship to cling to power

Friends in Tel Aviv say they are getting bombed, it’s happening, fuck you Bibi you filthy pig.

You've got “friends," in the US’s genocidal zionist proxy?

Hilarious. Look @Raoul Christensen so jealous that someone has friends and he has none. LOL.

It would take a heart of stone not to point and laugh at him.

Dean Solecki's avatar

I don't think we should celebrate dead Israelis.

They are racist and genocidal, but it's the fact that we aren't those things that disambiguates us from them.

I think Iran is within its rights to defend itself by whatever means necessary, but this entire thing is a tragedy, whether it's dead Israeli children or dead Iranian children, all of it is a pointless tragedy.

Alistair Page-McGill's avatar

yeah except the dead children are all on the Iranian side

Dean Solecki's avatar

It is suspected that Israel is lying about the success of Iran’s strikes.

That means that we don’t know what the collateral damage looks like on that side.

We can hope, but if entire buildings are getting leveled some kids probably found themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Alistair Page-McGill's avatar

Yes you're right, the Israelis build their military installations in civilian areas for that exact purpose. The difference is that the civilians on the Israeli side actually are 'collateral damage' and not the intended targets, as on the Iranian side.

I'm sure some would accuse me of being naive for saying that, but after 2 years of evidence from Gaza, and 4 years of evidence from eastern Ukraine, it's become rather clear that the side our state and media supports is the one consistently targeting civilians

Dean Solecki's avatar

For all the faults of the media, and good lord are there a lot, I think it has at least been pretty accurate about Ukraine.

I think this comes down to the inherent white supremacy of the western world, where we are comfortable talking about the belligerence of a white country contra another white country, but if it is a white country committing war crimes against a non-white population everything is euphemism, innuendo, and qualifications.

Can you imagine how the media would react if the US were trying to starve a nation of white people? It wouldn’t look like the coverage of Cuba, whatever it would be. And doubly so for Gaza.

On your point of Israel targeting civilians, I think it is so beyond a well-established fact that anyone suggesting otherwise should be immediately distrusted as either a fool or a racist, and probably both. I don’t know the exact number off hand, but something like 30 of 36 hospitals in Gaza have been bombed. You don’t mistakenly bomb 30 hospitals. It is official state policy. Only an incorrigible fool would say otherwise.

But, even if we assume the absolute best about the US and Israel, (and we definitely should not,) an unjust war is still an unjust war. Iran should be given more leniency for that reason alone; they are defending themselves.

Alistair Page-McGill's avatar

My friend I have to tell you, the media has been if anything worse on Ukraine than on Israel. It's only because they have all collectively and obediently agreed to dismiss anything presenting the 'Russian' side (which includes lots of people who lived in Ukraine their whole lives and only wanted independence after the 2014 coup installed nazis who targeted them for their ethnicity) as 'Russian propaganda' that the general public has such a distorted understanding. The nazis are very real and they were murdering, kidnapping and torturing people in DPR & LPR for 8 years before Russia finally intervened.

The country of Ukraine has been and is still being used as one big shield for NATO to attack Russia, but any Russian response is universally dismissed as 'unprovoked' by our media. It's not the Russians who've refused every ceasefire deal, it's the meddling American and British 'advisors' who insist more Ukrainians get thrown into the meat grinder. If our media had been remotely honest about any of this, people would be disgusted at what's being done in the name of 'supporting Ukraine'. But instead, those of us paying attention get called Putin apologists or whatever.

Sorry, I didn't mean to write that much. But seriously, if you're giving our media any credit at all, it's already too much

Dean Solecki's avatar

My friend, I have to tell you, you’ve convinced yourself that Russia invading a sovereign nation because Putin thinks “hurr durr Soviet Union” is somehow, in any world, justified.

The difference between you and me is that when Russia invades Ukraine, I know that they’re wrong.

And when the US invades Iran, I know they’re wrong.

Because I’m not stark raving mad.

Because I have principles and I apply them evenly.

But you are taking Russian propaganda at face value, when it is so clearly nonsense.

And unlike you, I reject both US and Russian propaganda.

Because both are so clearly nonsense.

You can do this if you try, I’m sure of it.

Raoul Christensen's avatar

Agree with everything, except for the first paragraph. No way has MSM portrayed an objective view, of Russia's defence against, the continuing eastwards expansion of NATO and the US!

Smotrich Said Law Doesn't Apply to Jews. His Son Just Learned It Does

Eman Mohammed

A statement circulates, attributed to Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich: “International law does not apply to the Jews. This is the difference between the chosen people and the others.”

The sentiment echoes a pattern of documented rhetoric. Smotrich has publicly stated that “there are no Palestinians, because there isn’t a Palestinian people,” dismissing an entire population as a “fictitious” invention. He has called for a Palestinian town in the occupied West Bank to be “wiped out” after violent settler attacks. And in August 2024, he asserted that blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza “might be justified and moral” even if it causes two million civilians to die of forced starvation.

These are not stray remarks from the political fringe. They reflect an ideology that has been voiced openly, repeatedly, and from within the highest levels of Israeli zionist government. It is the same logic that permits the bombardment of hospitals and schools, the seizure of land, the designation of safe zones that become kill zones. It is the framework that treats Palestinian life as conditional and Jewish supremacy as a divine mandate. When the law applies only to some, violence against the rest becomes administration. More so, it becomes inevitable.

Curious as to why you would use CNN as a source? All US mainstream media is compromised…

DavidPageYea🐝's avatar

It's a huge mistake to issue a blanket statement "all US media is compromised". To a degree you are correct across mainstream media, but even they have great differences in how compromised. You can generally spot the better ones just by what subjects they are willing to cover.

Then there there are a great many USA alternative media which give very good analysis... for example TYT (the Young Turks), IHIP (I've Had It Podcast), BTC (Brain Tyler Cohen), David Packman, Drey Dossier, Allison Gill, Wajahat Ali, Majority Report, etc.

Andrea Maria Romandini's avatar

Thanks for pointing that out! I edited my comment - I’m all about independent news! Thanks!

Did you hear about the Jake Tapper interview? I read his Obama book and he mentioned Gaza 3 times and Israel 5 times. How can you talk about the Biden admin. without covering Gaza?

Bleepo's avatar

Israel knows controlling the flow of information is everything. The past 2+ years in Gaza is a case in point.

MoT's avatar

“The problem is that it can create the impression that only civilian and no military targets are being aimed at and hit”.

But that's exactly what they want reported. To give the impression that only civilians are targeted. No different than how they spun their destruction of Gaza by labeling every hospital as a haven of terrorists.

Sarel Van Der Walt's avatar

I find it interesting that no satellite imagery of damage in Israel has been released, by any non-US / non-Israel organisation. Yet, we have seen these for Iran, US & GCC countries, whether military or civilian targets.

MoT's avatar

Exactly. They must either own those satellite firms or threaten those who are not.

Bill Jarett's avatar

(The AFP report added, “The army has also banned filming impacts at or near security sites, although it does allow coverage of civilian damage as long as exact locations are withheld.”)-

That is 100% targeted against domestic audiences, the satelites see all for the nation states!
