Thus, the war machine must always be fed, and must be fed more and more and more. Constant, continuous war is necessary so that the poor thing will not starve and die. And this is why the U.S. foreign policy this century is now non-existent. Our only foreign policy is to make war, so that we need more war materials.
The answer is to wean our oligarchs off that teat. So, how to bell that cat?
You may want a revolution in the mind, but it seems like that's not good enough considering what this administration is doing, unphased by record-attendance activist protests, etc.
Revolutions are tricky. We won ours because the King of France supported us, with money, an army, and a navy, as a way of poking their traditional enemy, Britain, in the eye. And it worked! And oh how ironic when our Revolution inspired theirs a few years later, and blood ran in the streets in every town, and entire families of the ruling class were executed, and then France went to war for 22 years. And lost it all when a cousin of the king was reseated on the throne after Napoleon was defeated.
I would be delighted to have a rational revolution in this country, to re-think the problems in our system. Publicly funded elections, term limits for everyone, senators reallocated by population instead of states, and massive taxes on wealth over a certain level.
I do not think, in this climate, we can have a rational revolution. And gods help us If the door is opened on a bloody one. It's nearly impossible to get that cat back in the bag.
